My goal is to provide you with a massage that is customized to your needs, and that is comfortable and effective.
I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 17 years, and have developed the skills to confidently address problem areas while keeping your massage as relaxing as possible. My “toolbox” of techniques allows me to choose the combination of what will work best for your body, and ranges from relaxing & flowy Swedish massage to specific Deep Tissue techniques such as Trigger Point and Myofascial work. I am also known for using neuromuscular tools and gliding & static cupping as needed to soften up tight fascia (connective tissue), unlock stubborn knots and relieve pain. The majority of the clients I work with prefer deeper, focused massage, often working out patterns of chronic tension and overuse.
Some of the areas I specialize in:
Upper back & shoulder tension–this is one of the most commonly requested “focus areas”, not at all surprising since so many people carry stress or “the weight of the world” on their shoulders, work at a desk & experience poor postural habits. The trapezius is one area where trigger points responsible for headaches like to hang out. If your shoulders are a knotted up mess, let me help.
Rotator cuff dysfunction–issues here can be a result of repetitive stress (such as carrying young kids) or injury (resulting from sports or falls). My goal is to help restore mobility, work out adhesions and make sure the 4 major muscles are able to function properly so you can reach, climb, carry, show off your golf swing or pitching arm, and pick up a cute little kid (or a heavy bag) without pain.
Low back & hip soreness/pain–this is one of my favorite areas to work on because we see results so quickly. Trigger point & rocking compression movement works beautifully here. I also like to teach how you can work this area at home yourself in between sessions, and what to do if your low back or hips act up when traveling.
Hands, forearms & feet–our hands and feet work so hard, they sure do appreciate some great massage! I use a combination of reflexology, trigger point work, and stretching incorporated into the massage. People that work with their hands or are on their feet all day really enjoy focused work on these areas.
